Standings
Athletico Paranaense, 3rd Place
Athletico Paranaense enter Matchday 29 in 3rd place, with 49 points from 28 matches played: 14 wins, 7 draws, and 7 losses, with a goal difference of +11. The Curitiba side sit directly inside the Copa Libertadores 2027 qualification zone and head into this fixture with the responsibility to protect their advantage.
At home, Athletico are one of the most consistent sides in the championship: 9 wins, 4 draws, and just 1 defeat in 14 home matches, with 25 goals scored and 11 conceded. Arena da Baixada has been a genuine fortress this season. Their recent run, win, draw, loss, draw, win, shows some fluctuation, but enough consistency to remain among the top sides.
Atletico-MG, 7th Place
Atletico Mineiro sit in 7th place with 40 points from 27 matches played: 11 wins, 7 draws, and 9 losses, with a goal difference of +4. The gap to the top 4 stands at 9 points, making a Libertadores push unlikely, but the fight for the G-6 and Copa Sudamericana qualification remains open.
Away from home, Atletico-MG's record has been their Achilles' heel this season: just 4 wins in 14 away matches, 8 losses, and only 13 goals scored. Their recent form, draw, win, loss, win, draw, shows a side unable to string together consecutive positive results. Improving their away performance is an urgent priority.
