The circuit

The Circuit of The Americas is 5.513 km long, and the race is 56 laps, 308.405 km in total. The lap record belongs to Charles Leclerc, set in 2019: 1:36.169. Formula 1 first raced there in 2012, at the first United States Grand Prix since Indianapolis in 2007. Turns 3 to 6 recall the Maggotts and Becketts section at Silverstone, or Suzuka's S Curves; Turns 12 to 15 mimic Hockenheim's stadium section. The climb up to the wide Turn 1 tends to produce good overtaking. ge adds that the track has long, wide straights, fast corners and big elevation changes, which demand power from the car and precision from the drivers.

The weekend's news

Haas has announced a special Godzilla livery for the United States Grand Prix, renewing the American team's partnership with Japanese studio Toho. Mercedes said that in Singapore it had mechanics who hadn't worked a pit stop in 15 years, after crew changes due to injuries, and the strain of the triple-header took its toll on the teams. Haas has also settled on Brazilian Rafael Câmara for 2027, following a test. In Austin, McLaren runs Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, Ferrari Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, and Red Bull Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar. sportv3 shows every session of the weekend live.
