Kalshi vs Crypto.com Predict Pro: Fees, APIs and Best Fit in 2026

Kalshi vs Crypto.com Predict Pro: Fees, APIs and Best Fit in 2026
32

The Kalshi vs Crypto.com Predict Pro decision comes down to account design and the full fee lifecycle. Kalshi is the better default for a dedicated prediction-market account, broader geographic access, a documented retail trading API and lower standard maker/settlement costs. Crypto.com Predict Pro is better for an eligible US Crypto.com Exchange user who wants visible depth, Post-Only control and event contracts inside a professional derivatives workspace.

Neither platform wins every trade. They operate separate order books with separate contract rules and liquidity. The correct choice for one event depends on the written proposition, executable price, available depth, fee schedule and funding route.

Editorial disclosure: Macro Markets publishes this comparison and operates a prediction-market platform. We include Macro Markets as a disclosed crypto-native alternative, not as an independent recommendation or a CFTC-designated US exchange. This is a documentation-based comparison; we did not place simultaneous funded orders on both venues. Fees, incentives, contracts, access and product features can change. Event contracts can settle at $0. This article is educational, not financial, legal or tax advice.

Kalshi vs Crypto.com Predict Pro: Quick Verdict

Choose Kalshi when you want a direct prediction-market account, current access outside the United States where permitted, broad funding choices and a retail API that documents orders, trades, portfolios and order books. Its current standard schedule is especially attractive to makers because most markets list no maker fee, although special series and combos can differ.

Choose Crypto.com Predict Pro when you already use Crypto.com Exchange, qualify for its US FCM account and value a professional trading layout with full depth, Market and GTC Limit orders, and Post-Only maker control. Its Spot-to-Derivatives route can fit an existing Exchange workflow, but it adds a separate derivatives balance and a second documented fee event.

Start with our Kalshi review or Crypto.com Predict Pro review if you need a standalone product assessment. The Predict Pro alternatives guide compares seven broader routes.

What Kalshi and Predict Pro Actually Are

Kalshi is a specialist event exchange. The CFTC's KalshiEX record lists it as a designated contract market. The Kalshi Klear record identifies the affiliated clearing organization as registered.

Predict Pro is a professional customer surface inside Crypto.com Exchange technology. Its current overview says event contracts are offered by North American Derivatives Exchange, doing business as Crypto.com Derivatives North America. The CFTC separately identifies that entity as a designated contract market and registered clearing organization.

Registration answers the venue-status question. It does not make the exchanges interchangeable or guarantee an account, contract, fill, early exit or profit.

Similar event titles are not the same contract

Suppose both venues list a question about the next Federal Reserve decision. Before comparing prices, match:

  1. The listing exchange and contract identifier.
  2. The exact rate, range or action in the proposition.
  3. The meeting date and observation time.
  4. The named source and correction policy.
  5. The Yes and No definitions.
  6. The final trading and determination times.
  7. Cancellation, postponement and dispute rules.

A 52-cent Yes contract on Kalshi and a 55-cent Yes contract on Predict Pro can describe different instruments. Even when the rules match, the cheaper quote may cover less quantity or disappear before execution. Our prediction-market comparison methodology treats the written contract and executable book as the comparison unit.

Direct exchange versus crypto-oriented derivatives account

Kalshi's product identity starts with events. Discovery, account history, APIs and portfolio tools are organized around prediction markets.

Predict Pro starts inside a broader professional exchange environment. Predictions share a Derivatives balance with futures and perpetuals. That can be efficient for a Crypto.com Exchange user and unnecessary for someone who wants only event contracts.

Do not confuse Predict Pro with Prediction Trading in the Crypto.com App. The App has separate funding, order and fee documentation. This comparison uses Predict Pro's current Exchange help center.

Matched example using the platforms' published standard schedules. Special series, live prices, liquidity and fee previews can change the result.

Fees and Execution Compared

The most useful fee comparison starts with the surprising tie. Kalshi's current standard fee schedule and Predict Pro's fee page both use the same standard taker coefficient:

taker fee = 0.07 × contracts × price × (1 − price)

The formula peaks near a 50-cent contract and falls toward zero or one. The amount is only one part of execution cost.

Matched entry example: 100 contracts at $0.50

Venue and order Published calculation Entry fee in the example
Kalshi standard taker 0.07 × 100 × 0.50 × 0.50 $1.75
Predict Pro taker 0.07 × 100 × 0.50 × 0.50 $1.75
Kalshi maker in most current standard markets Current schedule lists no maker fee $0.00
Predict Pro maker 0.0175 × 100 × 0.50 × 0.50 $0.44 after cent rounding

The Kalshi maker row is not universal. Its current schedule lists maker fees for certain combos and can apply different multipliers or non-standard series charges. The market's live fee label and order preview control.

Predict Pro applies its published maker rate to an order that rests and fills as maker. Its Post-Only instruction cancels an order that would immediately cross, protecting maker classification but not guaranteeing a later fill.

Settlement and early-exit costs break the tie

Kalshi's current general schedule lists no settlement fee. A sell before settlement is another trade and can create a transaction fee, spread and slippage depending on order behavior and market schedule.

Predict Pro says a fee is charged when the position opens and again at settlement or when it closes early. Its short public fee page does not provide a complete numerical settlement example for every outcome. Use the live order form and Settled Events record rather than assuming that the opening figure is the lifetime cost.

The correct comparison is:

all-in cost = entry fee + spread + slippage + exit/settlement fee + funding or conversion cost

At the same taker entry, a narrower spread can outweigh a fee difference elsewhere. At the same maker fee, an unfilled order has no position at all. Use our prediction-market fee calculator, then replace the example with the live ticket.

Which venue has better order controls?

Predict Pro's order guide documents Market, good-till-canceled Limit and Post-Only behavior. It is a strong workflow for a trader who actively chooses immediacy versus maker treatment.

Kalshi documents limit orders and offers order management through its API. Its exact interface can vary by web, mobile and advanced tools. For both venues, a marketable order can consume several price levels, while a resting limit can fill partially or not at all.

Predict Pro has the clearer native Post-Only story. Kalshi has the better current standard maker economics on most markets. Neither advantage matters if the other book has the materially better executable price.

Markets, Liquidity and Settlement

Both platforms cover broad event categories. Kalshi organizes markets across politics, economics, weather, sports, culture, crypto and other eligible topics. Predict Pro's current overview lists sports, crypto, commodities, foreign exchange, indexes, economics, politics, culture and climate.

Category labels do not establish a catalog winner. Search the exact event and read the rules. A platform with more sports listings can still lack the specific macro contract you need.

Liquidity belongs to the contract

Compare these measurements at the intended order size:

Measurement What it answers What it cannot prove
Best bid and offer What can trade immediately? The full fill price for a larger order
Depth by level How much size exists near the quote? Future exit liquidity
Recent matched volume Has the contract traded? A counterparty is available now
Open interest or positions How much exposure exists? A tight current spread

Kalshi's portfolio guidance says a displayed cash-out value is an estimate based on available bids and estimated sell fees. A limit sale can remain unfilled.

Predict Pro's position guide likewise warns that a close needs another participant. If the book is thin, a user may need to place a Limit order and wait or hold through settlement.

Total platform activity is not an early-exit guarantee. Check the exact side, price and quantity.

Who determines settlement?

KalshiEX applies the Kalshi contract and named source. The current Kalshi help center says most standard markets settle within a few hours after the outcome is known, but official data, rule timing or corrections can take longer.

For Predict Pro, the CDNA/NADEX contract specification, named resolution source and exchange process control. Crypto.com Exchange technology displays the position; it does not replace the listing exchange as settlement authority.

An AI answer, another platform's price, a television call or a social-media consensus cannot override either written contract. Save the rules before trading an unusual event.

Funding, Access and APIs

Kalshi now says individual accounts are available internationally where permitted. Its signup guide still requires identity verification and places responsibility on the user to confirm local legality. Restricted jurisdictions remain.

Predict Pro is currently limited to US users with an FCM account. A global Crypto.com crypto account does not automatically qualify.

Funding routes

Kalshi's transfer guide currently lists debit card, ACH, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App deposits, crypto and wire. Availability, holds, limits and fees depend on the method and country. For example, card processing or a crypto provider can add costs even when the prediction fee is unchanged.

Predict Pro uses a narrower documented route:

USD in Spot → transfer to Derivatives → trade Predict Pro

Withdrawals move back through Spot. Predictions, futures and perpetuals share the Derivatives balance. Crypto branding does not mean the event contract settles in a token; converting a crypto asset into the required USD can add spread, market exposure and tax consequences before the event trade.

Funding verdict: Kalshi offers more current transfer choices. Predict Pro is more integrated for someone already operating inside Crypto.com Exchange and comfortable managing a shared Derivatives balance.

API and developer access

Kalshi's API guide explicitly covers a user's orders, trades, portfolio and history, plus market order books and public exchange data through REST. That makes Kalshi the clearer choice for a retail developer who needs documented automated order management.

Crypto.com's current Exchange API page presents public prediction REST data, marks prediction WebSocket access as coming soon and lists FIX connectivity for DCM and FCM prediction workflows. Institutional connectivity does not prove that every retail Predict Pro account can place automated orders.

API verdict: Kalshi wins for documented retail trading coverage today. Predict Pro can still be useful for public data or eligible institutional workflows, but permissions and protocol access must be confirmed.

Regulation, Risk and Where Macro Markets Fits

At the exchange and clearing category level, this comparison is a tie. KalshiEX and North American Derivatives Exchange are designated contract markets. Kalshi Klear and Crypto.com Derivatives North America are registered clearing organizations.

The history and account route differ. KalshiEX received DCM designation in 2020, while the NADEX legal entity dates its designation to 2004 and later adopted Crypto.com branding. Product age is not the same as interface age: Predict Pro itself launched in October 2026.

Registration does not protect a trader from:

  • a contract that settles at $0;
  • a wide spread or thin book;
  • a rule interpretation the trader did not expect;
  • account, transfer or API downtime;
  • conversion and withdrawal costs; or
  • state, country or contract-specific access restrictions.

Use multifactor authentication, official domains and limited API permissions. Treat several positions tied to the same election, Fed decision, sports result or crypto price as correlated risk.

Macro Markets as a disclosed crypto-native alternative

Macro Markets is relevant for eligible users who deliberately want wallet-oriented crypto funding and global prediction-market discovery instead of either US exchange-account workflow. It represents a different custody, jurisdictional and product model.

Macro Markets is not presented here as a CFTC-designated exchange or as a regulatory equivalent to KalshiEX or CDNA. Compare supported countries, networks, custody, withdrawal rules, resolution sources, dispute process and executable liquidity independently.

Because Macro Markets publishes this article, this section is a first-party disclosure rather than an independent endorsement. Explore how Macro Markets works only after reviewing the exact contract and funding path.

Frequently Asked Questions and Final Verdict

Is Kalshi cheaper than Crypto.com Predict Pro?

Kalshi is generally cheaper for a maker fill in a current standard market and for a position held to settlement because most standard markets list no maker fee and Kalshi lists no settlement fee. Standard taker entry at the same price and quantity uses the same 0.07 coefficient on both platforms. Special Kalshi series and live order previews can change the result.

Is Predict Pro the same as Crypto.com Prediction Trading?

No. Predict Pro is the professional Crypto.com Exchange surface with separate funding, order and fee documentation. Prediction Trading in the App is a different consumer journey. This comparison does not apply the App's schedule to Predict Pro.

Can international users trade on either platform?

Kalshi says individual access is available internationally where permitted, with restricted jurisdictions and identity requirements. Predict Pro currently says it is available only to US users with an FCM account. Always confirm current local eligibility.

Which platform has the better API?

Kalshi has the clearer documented retail trading API because it covers orders, trades, portfolios and market data. Predict Pro offers public data and institutional connectivity, but current public pages do not establish retail automated order entry for every customer.

Which platform has more markets?

Both advertise broad categories and change listings continuously. Raw counts are less useful than finding a clearly defined, eligible contract with enough depth for the intended order and exit.

Which platform is more regulated?

Both use CFTC-designated contract markets and registered clearing organizations. Their legal entities, account routes, histories and contracts are different. Registration is not a guarantee of liquidity, profit or identical customer protections in every situation.

Can I close a position early?

Both platforms support selling or offsetting before settlement when liquidity is available. A limit order can fill partially or remain open, and a marketable order can cross a wide spread. Predict Pro documents another fee when closing early; Kalshi applies the relevant trade fee schedule to the closing execution.

Final verdict

Kalshi is the stronger default for most prediction-focused users. It offers a direct specialist account, broader current access, more funding choices, a documented retail trading API, no settlement fee and no maker fee on most current standard markets.

Crypto.com Predict Pro is the stronger fit for an eligible Crypto.com Exchange user. Its professional interface, visible depth, Post-Only control and shared derivatives environment can outweigh the account friction when that workflow already exists.

Do not choose from the platform verdict alone. Match the written contracts, inspect the executable book and calculate the full lifecycle cost. If the desired market is thin or the terms do not match your thesis, the correct choice is neither platform.
